Brick Smash VR perfectly recreates one of my favorite childhood games brick breaker. It doesn’t just stop at bringing back the classic; it enhances the experience with new elements that breathe fresh life into the genre.
Combining the charm of a retro game with the immersive power of modern VR technology, it delivers an unforgettable experience. The countless stages keep me hooked and make it nearly impossible to put the game down.
That’s it for my review now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m heading back into Brick Smash VR.
I'm old enough to have experienced the original brick breaker games, like Arkanood, and Brick smash, feels like a perfect mash up of those retro games with a modern twist, all in Virtual Reality.
The core gameplay will feel familiar, knock a ball back and forth across the screen to destroy blocks to complete the level.
We've seen games I trldhxe powerups and the addition of a pistol you can use to shoot blocks works well...
But the real highlight is the overall layout of the levels, each group of stages has a fresh layout, with obstacles, and bumpers which will make things a little more difficult and unpredictable.
Theres also a choice of controls between motion or the stick, and 3 different views which can be swapped mid-play.
There's a couple of areas I'd like to see improved to make control even easier , but it's already a very enjoyable game thats easy to recommend.
If you like Arkanoid or Breakout you will love this. Has a bunch of new wrinkles with some of the classic power ups like multi shot. The only minor complaint is the menus can be a bit laggy but the gameplay is smooth.
This is a great old school to the new school game with great graphics but I hope that Developers put an option rate if you want to be inside of the game itself in which you could see the whole view
I play Arkanoid and Tempest with a USB C arcade spinner.
This VR experience is nothing like those games.
You flick your wrist and the paddle moves. A button flips the table and enables a bullet time mode.
It's pretty cool once you get use to it.
I really dont like how the physics is implemented in this game. I played for a while then i gave up. The way that ball is moving around is very different from what i played on PC. I dont like it.
