Multiplayer

It's good but i don't think you have a choice whether you do multi-player or coop. I tried to play solo multiple times and was forced into pubs

Soldier or Strategist?

When I entered the tutorial I was surprised the game had automatically adapted to a single controller play style and I was not expecting to be able to fully operate the games mechanics and it's very thrilling. You can either play as a soldier and be equipped with grenades and a beserker syringe which gives you the ability to perform a shockwave blast, or you can be a strategist and build turrets, traps, ramps, walls. One mission includes you and your team taking spores encased in some device and transporting them to the highest building while eradicating enemies along the way. For a free to play game, one should definitely give it a go, especially if you're looking to go on action packed missions with friends and defend the spores from enemies ranging from lizard men to flying rocket raccoons!!!

An Unique Tower Defense Game

Biofusion is an incredible VR experience that truly immerses you in a vibrant and dynamic world. The graphics are stunning, and the gameplay mechanics are intuitive, making it easy to get lost in the adventure. The storyline is engaging, with plenty of twists and turns that keep you on your toes. The attention to detail in the environment enhances the overall experience, and the sound design adds an extra layer of immersion. Whether you're a seasoned gamer or new to VR, Biofusion is a must-try that delivers excitement and wonder at every turn! However, I do recommend playing Biofusion in matchmaking/multiplayer. More the merrier!

A great free game!

The Action/tower defense is an under-represented genre in VR. But is there room for Biofusion when Guardian Frontline exists?

You begin the the game selecting one of two characters each Soldier or Stratagest each with their own pros and cons (don't worry you can switch between them back at base)

It essentially boils down to whether you prefer cheaper build costs or if you prefer more damage from your guns (do you lean more toward the TD or the FPS side?)
Both can do both.....just slightly better or worse than each other in their respective roles.
Both also have a grapple hook to aid movement across the maps.

With the majority of the levels, it's simple. You have a central point that you need to protect "the spores"
You do this by building defense towers (turrents and traps) or walls to protect the spores, or by using your own weapons.
No matter which role you pick your likely to do a bit of both.

If enemies destroy the spores you lose it's as simple as that. Dying just respawns you after a short period (better hope you set your defenses up well or have online buddies to cover you....theres matchmaking)

There are a few variations of levels; a number chuck you on a moving "vehicle" where you also have to occasionally guide the raft/vehicle too.
There is also an escort mission to.....um look forward to.

Completing missions/achievements and killing enemies generate coins for you to spend on defenses and ammo in the levels.

There are some extra mechanics to encourage you to keep playing.
Weapons level up for more perks and there is a DNA system (Perk)
When you complete levels of find hidden cashes in levels you get DNA that you can slot into your character (up to 3)
By finding 3 of the same you get to merge them to get a stronger version of that perk.

DNA has multiple levels to upgrade to.

You will probably need to grind a bit to get better perks if you want to tackle normal difficulty or harder (unless you happen to be in a full team)

It might bot be as great as Guardian Frontlines but its a solid game for free o.O? No microtransactions in sight (I dont know how it's free)

Cant complain with such a low asking price.
Nothing to lose really if you are after some FPS/TD hybrid in VR.
