Art Gallery all art lovers but glitches

As an artist myself I know and love the idea of others learning about the beauty of a story behind the paintings and art work, But the graphics could us some work, as well as the hands are out of proportion and when ever I try to grab stuff it glitches

Game quality was awful

The game quality was very low. The starting screen was just an image with a obviously fake grass and sky. It gave me headaches just looking at it. Don't waste money on this.

Behind every painting is a story

Behind The Frame is an interactive story that slowly unfolds as you complete your final piece of art for your gallery.

To complete your painting you will be meet with a series of puzzles to solve, each puzzle will unlock more of the story and the next color to use on your painting. The answer to the puzzles are hidden in the artwork throughout your apartment. You will have the aid of your journal to store clues and information in.

The game is broken down into 6 chapters to complete, my first playthrough took me a little under two hours to finish the game. This may sound like a short experience, but I feel any longer would of just dragged out the plot and kill the effect of the game.

You will need to have a good eye to spot some of the clues on what needs to be completed in order to move to the next chapter of the game. The puzzles and answers can be found in some unique places, and will have scratching your head.

The graphics of the game are beautiful and vivid immersing you into a world of art. The sound track is very relaxing and set the mood to get creative.

The gameplay is pretty simple, you have smooth locomotion with snap turn to move around your apartment, a button to bring out your journal, the trigger and grip buttons are used to interact with the environment. I found the movement was a little to slow for my taste, and there is no option to speed it up. I think this was done to prevent motion sickness. I had some issues with the grip button and grabbing objects time to time. It is nothing game breaking but did leave me second guessing myself on some of the puzzles.

I really enjoyed my time playing in this game and the story left me very satisfied.

Hope there will be patches

I love this game on mobile phone very much, so I buy this Quest VR version immediately. But it’s not very polished. Since I am a experienced VR games player with VR leg, I hope there would be smooth turn option to be more immersive. And I strongly suggest you to search and read the review article on UploadVR website which called “Behind the Frame VR Should Return To The Drawing Board – Review” by HENRY STOCKDALE. If there are updates, I will give this game 5 stars!

[Updated 20th Sep, 2023]

2D art, animation, music and plot are really the strong points of this game (mobile/PC version), so I bought this Quest version in the first place, but this VR version became a bit rough after 3D-izing the whole scene and characters, especially the models of the characters make people out of the game, and it would probably be a lot better if they were rendered in celluloid cartoon rendering.

The most serious problem is: is this half-baked? It's a lot of effort (strain?) up front When we get to Jack's exhibition in chapter 6, all of a sudden, all of the visitors to the exhibition go back to the original 2D version of the stand-up comics. Moreover, I replayed the game without Jack's storyline, deleted my progress, and couldn't select chapters on my own, making it impossible for VR players to complete the whole story structure...

If you don't intentionally let the player walk around in the scene (6DOF) and make the 3D scene hard, but use the original 360 degree panorama (can be redrawn as 3D 360VR Side by Side scene, let the player sit at a fixed point to do 3DOF (without panning) free look, the art style is the same as the original, I believe that the experience will be a lot better! ...

The above is a bit broad and I'm not sure how to remedy this for your team, so I'll let you plan and prioritize the patches (maybe make the slots in the archive three first?) so that they don't eat up the player. After all, it's a very short game in less than an hour, and I like the plot, so I have no problem replaying it and pushing my friends to the pit (provided the experience is good, which I can't recommend the current version), and I just hope that the next updates will be better and better, good luck...
