Great idea, hard to get going in. Start with no idea on how to use weapons, but give me one in each hand. Uses buttons to eject magazine and rack the slide, with a “bump the bottom” to insert new magazine. This does not feel realistic at all. After trying to hit targets, do some odd drills, and then trying to debug why I hear zombies but cant see them through my AR walls, figured out how to turn off the walls and was rewarded with some lagging performance zombie (quest 2) attacks. Then went to play Arizona sunshine.
Zombies come randomly out of nowhere. Guns are not really usable and the game all round feels like it needs alot of work to even be a playable game.
Seems like a good game/training tool if I could get it working the way I want. Trying to spread targets around my house is a mission in itself. Can't figure out how to raise targets off the ground, or adjust distance. For example I'm trying to have a target standing in the door way of my bathroom and he's about 100 yards down the line and he's shrunk obv to simulate distance, can't figure out how to drag him closer. Or I try put one in my hall and he's sitting down. I would think there would be an option to move him higher. Even have him angled out a doorway..stuff like that...dunno if it's in the game and I just can't figure it out or it's missing. Tutorial video wouldn't play so I was guessing before I got fed up.
After going through and figuring out the room setup, had a great time shooting zombies with a realistic looking gun! Got startled when I found one of the zombies right behind me in the nick of time lol. There's a lot of potential for fun running the drills too!
You know what... I'm a vet with more than 20 years of combat rotations experience, most in SF units. I've been to places and seen people and stuff. I've fired tons of ammo during training and operations. I quit all these because I got bored at some point. Well... I've NEVER been so excited about my training... Even being a fresh 2nd lieutenant. Perhaps I feel so because this thing turned out to be a bridge to the great past, but whatever. I've spent two hours non-stop, sweating like $hit, hitting and missing, getting pissed about my performance in terms of time and so on. And I stopped my session due to the low battery warning. I don't have any word to describe this except for "masterpiece". Some minor issues exist, but even if there was 10 or 100 times more than I've really discovered, they mean nothing. The simulation is glorious! It's either a game or a training aid. It's for you to decide.
This is a great mixed reality game! I had a blast defending my play area from zombies and hitting targets throughout my apartment. Great work, and I can’t wait to see this game evolve!
