Moderate Archer here. A lot of mixed reviews. Theres a lot of things this game gets right. Unless you are an archer yourself you wont notice some of the other things people have requested they add in update. Which I agree with. But it’s fun, and will definitly scratch that itch.
The cutscenes in each stage of the game are overly lengthy, and the reticle being fixed on-screen is truly distracting. Please, I’m begging you, add a setting to remove the reticle! Please!
Interesting game. Mostly realistic physics.
I like the haptic feedback from the drawn string.
What spoils ths experience somewhat is when an arrow is loaded you can still flex and extend the wrist of the hand that holds the bow, which creates unrealistic visuals. This is even more apparent when the string is drawn.
This game is great, but still need some improvements.
1. Limit the amount of user in the same lobby to reduce the lag, allow user to switch to different lobby, if it become too loud or too quite.
2. There was one time the action of draw arrow from quiver was very laggy. I tried restart the quest 3 machine and still lags, however it worked much better the next day, could be a network issue.
3. There was a stage indicating strong wind, yet I cant see any flag to tell me the wind direction and strength, just need to do guessing work.
4. The online match making costs coins, yet if I cancel the match making when it stuck in searching, the coin is deducted anyways... this waste of coins will prevent people from searching....
And the match making should allow user go back to single player while waiting for the search... otherwise its a waste time just waiting for the search screen to find someone.
5. In game tutorial doesnt mention anything about adjusting the knobs for the aim sights.
6. In game tutorial doesnt try indicating your posture is correct or not, I could have the arrow pointing at wrong angle but as longer the sights is aimed correctly it will still reach to the target. In archery, shouldnt there be 3 points? the arrow head, the sights, the target.
Please add a arrow hologram on the bow when drawing so player can align it properly.
Thanks!
I load into the game and I see the bow / arrow flickering about. I have to grip it a certain way and it’s not always locked in to my controller.
Then I tried the game with my bow & arrow stock and it totally does not work because it doesn’t allow for locked in alignment with the controller, or a custom calibration settings option to set your alignment such as using the bow without pressing the grip button (toggle mode). Maybe this exists in the options?
Add in a custom levels mode and community sharing and this has the potential to be the “AceXR” or practical shooting / archery game of VR, in which I will rate it 5 stars.
My boyfriend goes to archery and appreciates the realism of this game. He loads it up every time the weather's too bad out to get some practise.
The surroundings are lovely to look at as well
