I don’t even recall buying this game, but I was just looking at purchase history and there it was. If I had realized it sooner, I probably would have asked for a refund.
This game has a nice concept, a cute little diorama style adventure game. Not really much of a platform game as it is just point, click and occasionally grab things. But, the lack of options in game, the really awkward hand positioning, the lack of any real introduction, just feels like something that was thrown together and called a game. Everything about this game just doesn’t feel right. Snap turning is your only option, no way to adjust height from the scene or speed of movement, items you grab don’t snap to anything, like no feedback. You are holding your hands like stop signs the whole time as you point out of your palm. Animations are all stiff looking, like nothing is smooth moving and even then the main character movement is slow. What am I even clicking on these glowing things for? What is she eating? Did that snake hurt me? Nevermind, guess I am dead now.
No idea what's supposed to be going on in the game, but it has a nice look at least.
1 issue I have so far (beyond the menus moving with my head...ATTENTION ALL VR DEVELOPERS- STOP DOING THIS USELESS FEATURE IN YOUR GAMES!!!), are the free rotation camera (I hate Snap turning) is SO godawefully slow, but not too bad given the game style/ perspective either I guess. But WHY are your hands stuck facing up/ palm forward and the pointer coming out of your palm? This is incredibly awkward..😅
Why not do like everyone else and go with index finger pointer if anything. Also, the red pointer only comes out of the left hand, not sure if that's another odd design choice or a bug, but the game is possibly made with Lefties in mind. Not sure, but not a huge issue either.
So I'll have to play more, but already it seems like something that needs some work. I'd likely be requesting a refund if I bought it at full price in it'scurrent state ($15...), but as is I'll push on to see what the developers have cooked up, and hope they continue cooking going forward since the general gameplay premise does have promise and the look of the world and characters are charming.
