So giving the game a second-chance and re-buying it, I have to say I'm enjoying it now. Just a really great arcade title to have, and I love any game that has satisfying progression in the form of great upgrades giving me more reason to keep playing.
I will say though that I still find the Immersive Mode sections the weakest so far, minus the stationary shooting one that works fine. The controls for these sections is just so slow and cumbersome, making it hard to do what you need to do. They don't feel impossible/ bugged nor are crashing my game this time around though (not sure if the game has had a few updates since my last play 6+ months ago or if I was just in a bad place before, but happy no matter the case. 😅).

So I'm glad to have this in my collection again and definitely recommend it to any arcade fans and/or classic bullethell jet fighter games.

Hi, thanks for your detailed feedback. The issue you mentioned with the jet’s guns was indeed a bug, but we want to let you know that it has already been fixed in the latest updates. The weapons now work correctly in all modes.

We’d really appreciate it if you could revisit the game and, if everything works fine on your end, consider updating your review. Reviews are very important for small studios like ours, and your updated experience would help other players see the real state of the game today.

Thanks again for giving our game another chance and for being part of the community!

Needs fixing

Overall game looks good, but I can see the issues as reported by other people. Shots are not accurate. Plane controls are finnicky. I don't want to give up the game but if there are no updates within the refund window, I probably will ask for the refund.

Test & Bugfixing needed !!

Hey guys - Did you ever test this game? Shots don‘t go out straight. They stay were they were fired!! … I hope for an update on Meta Quest 3 … Currently not playable! … Please bring an update quick ! …

Hi riddler75 — thanks for the heads‑up. The issue with shots not moving straight was a bug and it’s already been fixed in the latest updates (including on Meta Quest 3). Please give it another try and, if it’s working for you now, we’d really appreciate it if you could update your review.

If the problem persists on your device, please email us at support@ivanovichgames.com
with your headset model and a short video so we can investigate. Thanks for helping us improve!

1976 Back to Midway

This game is very fun until you go to the immersion zone. It’s so incomplete. The controls and shooting is so bad. Doesn’t make sense. I don’t know why they even kept it in the game with it being that horrible. They could’ve just kept the immersion part out of the game completely. If there’s not an update to fix this, the game is not worth getting.

Hi marcus151 — thanks for sharing your thoughts. The immersion zones are actually a favorite part for many players, but we understand they can feel strange at first. It usually takes a few tries to get used to the mechanics.

That said, by the time of 1976 we weren’t in a position to rebuild those sections completely. Based on feedback like yours, in 2076: Midway Multiverse we separated the immersion zones so players can enjoy them as standalone stages. Have you tried 2076 yet? There’s a free demo available and we’d love to know what you think!

Another bust!

Waited on this game for awhile. I just knew I wanted it as an old schooler. I thought for sure I would love it. Bam, it came up for sale $5.99. Gonna get a refund! They just try to do too much. Plus, I can't stand shooting games where it seems like your bullets don't do anything. At one point, I ran over some time warp thing..(time slows down) But still I threw everything I had into one little enemy & it wasn't enough!!?? They just flew on off the screen, never to be seen again.

Hi Deltablow — thanks for giving our game a try and for sharing your impressions. The issue with bullets not behaving correctly was a bug that we’ve already fixed in the latest updates, so enemies should now react as expected.

We’d really appreciate it if you could give it another shot and, if everything feels better, consider updating your review. And if you still notice problems, please reach out to us at support@ivanovichgames.com
so we can investigate further. Your feedback truly helps us improve!

Great!

I was very surprised just how fun this was. Hitting perspective changing power ups turned a good 1941 style game into a great 1941/After burner mash up game. Would recommend to anyone who also likes arcade shooters and flight combat games.
