Worldlens offers some amazing enhancements for your VR experience in Google Earth. I started using this app because it allows me to use Google Earth in VR without having to be tethered to PCVR. Although I do suggest using a swivel chair for super smooth turns, you can absolutely use this app while stationary. Right hand and the visor do most of the driving while your left hand has a control panel that can be minimized. Controls include compass, street map, web lookup, location address/GPS coordinates, bookmarks, and a bunch of ways to tweak performance and experience. A strong WiFi connection helps speed up rendering but I've used the app without problem on "less than speedy" shared pubic WiFi. With Wordlens and Google Earth being routinely updated you will never run out of places to go in this absolute time vampire. Currently running WorldLens on a MetaQuest 3.
😂 i‘m sending picture to My Family in different Country’s of the streets , they think i’m there to visiting them, how to explain to old people what am i doing? Great app
Travel the world.
Seriously travel the world
Really amazing. Had so much fun flying around and looking at different users of street view in places I know. The UI could use some work, it’s not terrible now, just needs to be refined.
I think some of the nausea could be lessened were the view to involve less looking down.. as if you could draw the focus to the horizon and higher. I want a reclining view. The need to tilt the head forward reminds me of looking down while skydiving - don't. Still learning how to navigate effectively. Definitely change scrolling to "snap" to lessen nausea. I like being able to not be attached to the PC while exploring. Having speed be adjusted via the stick and having a reverse would be good.
