Whether you want to see places you won't be able to visit in real life or just be able to easily explore the world, this is the most polished map app. Yes, it sometimes lags when flying but it doesn't deter from the unbelievable experience.
PS: On Quest 3 / 3S, I recommend these graphics settings as a best balance between visuals and performance:
Resolution multiplier: 1.4x
Draw distance: 60%
Loading strength: 6 or 8
So it’s 2am in the morning and I can’t sleep. Purchased this app 2 months ago and feeling like nothing else I go into it. Today I’m finding out that I can control the sky movement, stars, sun and moon. It was an extra $10 Canadian but is it ever worth it! Wow! My favourite spot on the globe , Mount Everest! I cannot describe the feeling to be able to follow the path to the top of Mount Everest sitting on my couch! Once I’m on top I can watch the sunrise and sunset over the Himalayas ! What a rush. I now feel like flying over to Lothse the next mountain slightly lower. I feel like a bird. This app is incredible, not perfect because the 3 D renderings are still in the infant state but still satisfying. I’ve pretty much covered the globe checking out little side streets in Hokkaido and revisiting my previous home in Markham , Ontario. The AI is depicting images from about 6/7 years ago and needs to be renewed but the street views are newer. This app also helped me a lot to get acquainted with my new neighbourhood faster! I have to say that after Supernatural this is my 2nd favourite app within 20 purchased apps even better than Wander!
I have been playing this for a few, the game works how you expect. It is really good at what it does, the 3d, the traveling back in time. I do enjoy this game a lot, worth your money. It has tiny glitches here and there, but that is expected with all games. I really do recommended this game if you love exploring and just seeing how things are like in person at the comfort of your own home.
Is there a way to customise the controls? I'm not a fan of the trigger movement controls.
On voyage !
I would use Google Earth through Steam and it was a pain being tethered to my desktop with a wire. My internet is a little slow for this but works well enough not to be bothersome. Took a little while at first start to load things (maybe a progress bar would help). The controller directions only displayed for like 10 seconds, not giving me enough time to fully read it. There should be a continue button perhaps. One big UI improvement that would be great is to move the street view bubble to be in line/above the controller. As it is now its underneath and then when the menu is open (because I want the map at the same time), it's basically obscured.
