Best player ever

Many options and formats, 7k videos wihout problem.

Missing support for external media..

Using the pc version to stream via Virtual desktop to quest 2 since years. Whirligig is the best media player around and I have tested several players. But the Quest version is lacking support for external devices, network access, upnp, smb etc. Please add this functionality. Then I will give 5 stars. Many thanks..

Any reason? If you have issues getting things working please let me know. I'm working on a new release which should improve performance and video compatibility so maybe that'll help things for you.

Without actually knowing what your issues are having I can't address them and Whirligig is still in development which is one of the reasons it is on Applabs.

Can't connect SMB

Need to connect NAS via SMB but can't find if it's even possible

This isn't an option yet. I do wish to add this feature but I currently don't know how. I'll keep plugging away at it though and hopefully I'll come up with a solution in future updates.

I've uploaded a new version v4.978. A meta system update broke the permissions. I'm hoping the update has fixed the issue but if not let me know. Thanks

Thanks for letting me know. I've only been testing on the Quest 2 at the moment.

I'll be releasing a new version soon which might show more success.

Absolutely phenomenal VR app

I have tried the other major VR video apps and Whirligig is certainly one of the best out there. The developer is extremely responsive and goes through many lengths to look at and provide potential solutions for issues. I have used the Rift version and the Quest version is pretty solid. There are features Phil is working on that I am looking forward to and I will be a continued customer.
