Such potential

I gave this 5* because it has such potential. I have tried immersed and workgroups both good but I really like how this separates the running apps and drags them into the work areas. It has bugs though, things that would be obvious after 5 minutes of testing so the opinions that this is not being developed seem likely to me. It’s such a shame it has some unique features like passing through the controllers and the locally connected usb mouse into the pc desktop. Sound and mic passthrough actually worked which is closer than workgroups and immersed have got, but I couldn’t stop my voice feeding back into the headset so unusable. A Bluetooth ear piece and mic solved that so not a big deal. It works well in passthrough but if I go immersed the strobing hands on the controllers are a big distraction therefore unusable, the hand control is no replacement. It’s worth a look though to see what virtual computing might be one day.

Update. You can get by with hands so when immersed I put down the controllers to stop the hand strobing and use a Bluetooth mouse that can grab windows and the wheel can zoom in an out. I didn't realise pointing at the apps then making a fist will grab the screen as well. So not using controllers in immersed is actually not a big deal. Its back to my favourite workspace at the moment.

When I first tried it I immediately didn't like it because the work area was to close. I didn't realise you can go into settings and set the work area distance as well as zoom the areas with the controller. Its set far too close on the first run so its easy to get fed up and abandon it. If you try it give it some time to fiddle with the settings its worth it in my opinion

atrocious

its atrociously bad, its a shame to any software and software fields in such. I have to remember if i have seen in past worse software. Best of it, they ask 20 bucks monthly fee one of the most expensive softwares in spite of it alongside too.

It messes and locks your entire desktop. It behaves /pretends like it can map any window anywhere. Btw which oculus desktop can do itself and flawlessly when I think about it , its also very unintuitive, it can hardly be centered, and windows can be placed only in single stripe which becomes way too curvy depending on your position. Also menus are cluttered and cumbersome

They Have Abandoned the App

This was a great app with great potential but for whatver reason they stopped pushing any new developments. I was on the discord channel but left becauae there was no transperancy, people would ask about VR app dates and beyond vague "in the works" type comments, they would just ignore the question. The only work they would report on is the 2D app. Now the discord link 404s.

It would be nice if vSpatial would communicate their intentions but they aren't and now that Immersed has bluetooth keyboard and mouse support, I dont care anymore. I am done with vSpatial and cancelling my subscription.

Works very well

Works well with remote connection to laptop. Use a bluetooth keyboard, perfect with passthrough. Can work effortlessly.
