Amazing

Genuinely relaxing and fun. Avoids a lot of discomfort I find in other painting games with hand placement. And holding brushes.
Enjoyed it a lot.

not for newbies dev needs to fix this

every other art app i've tried has it so i can sample colors just by pointing at anything and then getting the color but this doesn't, why?

Seriously no excuse, imagine if other editors didn't have an eye dropper for getting the exact same color.

it also ignores disabilities what about people that have color issues.

20$ for an app i can't actually use unlike $5 and free apps

Thank you for actually responding, you have no idea what it's like WANTING to get into art but you have barriers and accessibility ALWAYS comes LAST, meaning people like me not getting into art despite wanting to desperately.

For instance, in the app VR Painter, I can have more than one canvas and I can import an image as a canvas, grab the color from it and just paint on the main canvas.

Your responses are geared towards elitism, you're going for super-realism which ignores accessibility.

In real life I can just get a color code and order that color of paint.
In real life I can draw physically and paint over that.
Or I can stencil and paint that.

I also don't see an option to dry a layer and make it wet again like in vr painter.

If I could do these things the app would be accessible to me like it is to base audience and I'd be able to paint endlessly like I've always wanted to.

I've been poor all my life and got lucky getting VR for therapy, I never got into painting because it's expensive to make mistakes - I wanted an option to paint like in real life, but digitally.

If I could do these things in your app then I'd get real brushing experience and could transfer that to real life without spending money on paint and space.

Reply 2/2 Hi again! Regarding the eye dropper, it will definitely be updated to allow sampling off images. That being said, don't be afraid to experiment with mixing colors, that's a big part of the fun! There's a video tutorial on mixing colors linked in the default bookmarks, top right button of the browser. As far as painting over something and making layers wet/dry: there are two options for this. First is the canvas mixing sensitivity slider, which is located on the palette so it's always readily available. If you set that to zero, you paint over anything without any mixing. The higher you set it, the more the color blends on the canvas. The other option is the layers from the Layers panel on the floating screen. Different layers don't mix with each other. You can merge them if you want to blend them together, or to free up more layers. Hope that helps!

Reply 1/2 Hi there, I'm sorry you're having troubles getting started. When you pick up the rag for the first time, you get a tooltip that explains that you dip the rag in the paint thinner to be able to erase fully. This is useful because it allows you to gently fade out paint when you want to, or fully erase it if you want that instead.

The eye dropper samples paint from the palette or the canvas, and in a future update it will also be able to do so from the browser. You don't need it for mixing paint, it's a convenience option for those that want it. Mixing paint is done by just mixing colors together on the palette. The starting palette has plenty of colors available to easily get whatever color you need.

I would recommend using the paint by numbers generator. This will mix up the colors for you as well as giving the outlines for the painting.

Amazing app

I was hesitant at first but this app is incredible!!! Watching Bob Ross I thought I give it a go and it is superb. I have painted incredible paintings when I thought I couldn’t paint. After this app I bought acrylic paints and found the skill transfer very well into real life. Thank you so much!!!
