UPDATE: You can control your iPhone 📱 in VR using the Spatial Phone app!

Finally figured out a way to control your iPhone in VR on your Meta Quest — something that was previously only possible on Android.

You can mirror and control your iPhone/Android phone directly onto your Meta Quest with high-quality passthrough and low latency. Use it in any app or game.

Note : iPhone needs to be paired with your Meta Quest each time you want to use the control feature. This is a limitation of the current technology and may be resolved in the future.

Features:

🔹 High-Resolution Passthrough {"height":1440,"type":"image","width":2560} Enjoy crystal-clear visuals of your Android/iOS device inside your Meta Quest headset with very low latency and stereo audio (40ms-90ms)

🔹 Can be used with other apps/games This app can be used in background with other app/games

🔹 Control with Meta Quest Controllers {"height":1440,"type":"image","width":2560}

🔹 Easy to connect and private peer-to-peer connection {"height":1440,"type":"image","width":2560} Connect on the same network or internet without any custom setting. Your data stays private with end-to-end peer-to-peer connections. No additional data is collected or stored.

For additional help you can reach out on discord : https://discord.gg/99qgmSxUZ9

{"height":1440,"type":"image","width":2560} Requirements : iPhone or Android 8+ are currently supported.

The companion software is free to download.

Black screen, stream causes phone freeze

Hi I found some problems,

+casting speed display fps
+ accessibility options enabling at the app to allow integrated vr controls causes crashes, in menu,
+wifi connection status on 2.4 or 5ghz display need,
+ linking to cast in meta causes android app to crash and terminate on android which I have to relaunch spatial app again
+ I need app zoom in scale + and - menu button,
+I need resolution mode with selected box to emulate resolution size drop box with auto apply, for example, 1080p, 2k, 3k, 4k in android and iPhone and meta headset spatial menu option resolution selection with video options to apply

I need smooth portrait and landscape at the click of a button on, even if it displays on virtual portrait or landscape

I need spatial virtual box to have a lock and unlocked box, I need fixed position display box locked, on android app and iPhone and on the meta virtual headset application next to the virtual application while running on projected(casting) virtual box, so the so it does not move around, in other words it's like running vlc in windows with the option "always on top"

I keep getting a black screen, the update claims to stop black screen but still no help
My phone freezes during streaming button is pressed

Keep up the good work👍

Thanks for the detailed review.

A few things you mentioned are already supported in the app:

To resize windows, just drag the corner of the screen using your Quest controller.

I’ve optimized casting to be as fast as possible. If you're on the same Wi-Fi network, you don't need to enter a code — the device will automatically appear.

Most phones don’t have 4K screens, so casting at that resolution isn’t currently possible.
Changing orientation is supported in most apps and can be triggered when there's a dedicated functionality for it.

only one phone

Good for setting stuff

Keeps me from having to take off my headset when logging into accounts and needing to do 2step MFA stuff. It has a bit of a lag, can be blurry, you have to remember to activate it in advance, some apps cause it to crash especially if it tries to open your camera and it feels a bit odd interfacing with something that is recording what you do like the Quest. However all around great for what I need. Wish this was standard for the Oculus because I'd like that piece of mind that what I'm doing is safe and secure. Also it's a bit expensive, I'd say it's worth more $5-8

Works but a bit clunky

It works with iPhone but it puts a giant mouse pad to use your iPhone. A second screen to take up space while in other apps. Hopefully that pad will be able to be layered on the virtual phone screen so that it’s hidden out of site. Thanks dev this is a game changer!

It's ok

It's ok, a little laggy but that's probably my internet connection playing a part. Only really problem I have is the screeching noise when I connect everything up, I have to move my phone out of the room just to use it on the headset.

The screeching noise you mentioned could be because of the mic, you can disable from your iphones mic settings or just disable the permission altogether
