The Game Is Amazing

For a free game, the game is very fun. I could easily pay $10-$15 for this. If you don't have a decent amount of patience, I wouldn't recommend playing, it takes a while to build something actually good.

Amazing potential

Honestly I'm blown away by this app. It's free but I'd easily pay 10 to 15 bucks for it. The controls are responsive and the building system is very intuitive. I'm not finding a snap tool and that's what I desperately need. I spend a lot of time lining up walls and ceilings that could be so much easier if they would just snap together. Mixed reality would be fun as well. It would be great if we could have people/animals to put into our worlds as well. Breath some life into them. Maybe an avatar for ourselves? We build these worlds but they are desolate and empty. They would be so much more enjoyable with people/pets there to interact with. An AI companion? Those are just my ideas, the app as it is is a lot of fun to play with, I'd just like to see my world brought to life. That would be really cool to see. Great job dev team.

Update: over a year ago I reviewed this app and there is still no snap tool. Highly disappointing.

Hi Mrwhite, thank you for revisiting Space Elevator. Here is an update on the snap tool.

There are two reasons why it has not yet been included into the public version:

First, when considering a potential implementation, we found that users tended to become overly focused on aligning elements and snapping edges before they had found a spatial concept for their design. Our aim with SE is to replicate the way architects use cardboard for sketching: they build quickly and loosely until the overall shape and space feel right. We definitely need a snap tool, but we are looking for a way to implement it that keeps the focus on ideation.

Second, a snap system in VR is very doable, but it is a significant task. You can get a sense of the challenge (and the bugs) by looking at other VR tools that have implemented it. To allocate the necessary resources to continue with this task, we need to generate more revenue. Right now, we are still dealing with setbacks from the ongoing changes to the Meta store. (For example, although "architecture" is our tag, SE does not appear in searches.)

Thank you again for returning to Space Elevator. We hope people will continue to buy it and use it - we are still here, still listening and still building (re: your suggestion from last year, we did secure funding to prototype an AI companion). Ultimately, this is the only thing that will enable us to continue support.

Very versatile.

Of all the VR based architectural platforms I’ve used, this one has the most flexibility and control (more so than Joyverse and Home Design 3D). However, some essential items are missing from its repertoire such as a refrigerator in the kitchen furniture items. More accessories would be nice too and a way to change the color of the car and van. These extra touches would make this a five star stellar tool for design.

Thank you, Scriber913! We're happy to hear that you are enjoying Space Elevator's flexibility and control. We put an awful lot of work into the UI, and we're glad it's coming across. PS: We have added the missing items to our To Do list for the next update.

Well rounded and easy learning curve.

I work for an architectural firm, and I am accustomed to people using AutoCad and Revit to build spaces. My 7yr old son however has been using Minecraft for years and was looking for something more polished and granular.

This app was easy for him to get started and yet still has plenty of room for more complex design and advanced features.

I am a fan of the usability without it feeling game-like. Although upon first look it feels kind of like a “home architect” application, I feel this has far more advanced functionality once you start digging into the features… and the rabbit hole runs deep.

Thank you, frombrooklyn! Our goals is to introduce a new way of designing spaces. Older audiences trained on screen-based methods sometimes struggle with a workflow that requires them to move their entire body. But, in our experience, younger audiences who first learn how to design in VR love it and can't imagine working any other way.

After all, buildings are spaces for people in motion, so it's only natural to use a tool where you can simulate that with your own body WHILE you ideate.

Thank you again, and we hope your son will build beautiful things with Space Elevator!

Innovative, Functional, and Fun!

This is more than a design engine -- it is an example of what good use of Spatial Computing in Virtual Reality is capable of delivering as a medium. So it demonstrates improvement over familiar existing 2D methods in a way that feels natural. My favorite example is the mini-map box that lets you both see and control the environment while you are immersed in the same environment -- it's mind blowing. While the professional Architecture and CAD tools can be hard to work with or easy ones can be limited -- S.Elevators has a good balance between both so there is almost no learning curve to get something good enough to share out the door. Highly Recommended !!!

impressive

“I recently explored Space Elevator on Meta Quest 3, and it’s an impressive application for architecture enthusiasts. The app offers a unique platform to dive into the world of architectural design, allowing users to construct and interact with stunning virtual structures. The level of detail and realism in the designs is truly remarkable, making it an engaging tool for anyone passionate about architecture. Space Elevator stands out as a creative hub, pushing the boundaries of virtual design and offering a fresh perspective on what’s possible in the realm of architecture. Highly recommended for those looking to unleash their creativity!”
