Good, But!

This is awesome, but really lacking in content, this needs another 20 videos before I’d consider subscribing to it, we are on Starship 9, Falcon 9’s launch twice a week and the free content hasn’t changed for a while!
It’s a shame, because this could be a great way to get the space community into the homes of the interested viewers, so 4 out of 5 instead of 5 out of 5, still good but definitely lacking.

What is the subscription for?

I had 10 experiences after purchasing the app a month or a month and a half ago. Today, I added a subscription, but nothing changed – still the same 10 experiences. Disappointing.

Sorry about that (we're simplifying the language to make it more clear). The subscription works similar to patreon support. It supports the team to create ongoing regular new films. For example Starship Flight 8 is coming out soon, with some awesome plans for Flight 9 and more launches from the Cape. It also includes access to our behind-the-scenes discord server. Send us a message and we'll hook you up with access.

Limited content

OK, I like the VR material shown here. However, it is quite low resolution on Quest 3. Furthermore, there is limited content. I added the subscription and hoped for more, but nothing was added with my subscription.

Thank you for the feedback. We have 11 experiences available now with a 12th up soon (as of Feb 2025). More experiences are uploaded regularly as they are filmed. We recommend selecting the download option versus streaming to watch each feature in its highest quality. Would love to hear more feedback and hope you will join our discord community.

Awesome experience

I've always liked Cosmic Perspective's YouTube channel and their super nice production quality. Then I found out they've got this app packed with awesome high-quality footage! The spatial audio really makes you feel like you're right there, and the rocket launches (and landings) are LOUD! If you're wearing headphones, check your volume. 😉 Space and rocket fans might spot some familiar faces and hear familiar voices, which is a fun bonus. I recommend buying this app and supporting the team on other platforms as well, so they can keep filming more of this epic stuff.

Perfect use of the medium

As someone that's a big fan of stereoscopy, VR, and all things space, Cosmic Perspective's work on capturing these historic moments in 3D is fantastic.

Stereo 180 videos do an incredible job at giving you a sense of scale and perspective of how large these things are. In fact, VR is sort of the only way to get a real sense of their scale (apart from being there in person).

They've also done a great job at the audio capture and mixing, giving you the ability to move your head and hear the things correctly spacialized.

I highly recommend watching the "Falcon Heavy Landing Experience" with some headphones as well as the "Cosmic Perspective VR Experience". It's a kick in the teeth!

PS - big thanks for allowing downloads of the videos (so you can watch them in high quality rather than depend on your internet connection bandwidth)
