PozeAR is an Augmented Reality martial arts training app.

We record the movements of real experts performing real moves using optical motion capture, then let you step into their shoes and learn pozes from your own perspective.

FOR STUDENTS

  • Get motivated with a scoring system, difficulty levels, and achievement medals.
  • Prepare for each move using step-by-step yellow guides showing hand forms, body rotation, leg heights and more.
  • Aim each move using the red target. The front of the target changes to show the type of strike you should use.
  • Follow fast movements with the help of motion trails.
  • Hear your instructor provide step-by-step audio instructions.
  • Two virtual, lifesize 3D instructors are in-front and behind you at all times, performing the moves.
  • Fit your body by adjusting height, arm lengths, leg lengths and more.
  • Analyse your performance by watching a lifesize 3D replay of your actual moves. A true 'out of body' experience!

FOR INSTRUCTORS

  • Free up instructors: spend less time teaching patterns, more time helping students refine their technique and master more advanced skills.
  • Add variety to training: rotate students through stations, some spending time in PozeAR, some one-on-one tuition, some group work.
  • Help students learn faster: by teaching all moves from their own perspective, PozeAR capitialises on student's muscle memory. Without realising, students can learn a new pattern in as little as 30 minutes.

PozeAR is great for Kukkiwon Taekwondo Poomsae!

Wish it included the ITF tuls

Would be a great help for perfecting the moves if it only included the ITF tuls and not just focus on WT.

Great idea

Great application. Limited to only one style. Thought it had karate which would have been amazing.

Try it. He's standing right there

Did the first lesson and legs are sore. Very effective and can learn a lot with this. I'm not into martial arts but this was good.

This could be amazing.

This is a great concept. There is an option to purchase/unlock different styles. I registered an account with the developer's website as directed in game to purchase the karate option. However, it did not allow me to purchase the karate version.

Hi RobRotten. I'm sorry I haven't been able to record that karate version yet. I would love to add new modules but I'm just a solo developer and I'm looking for funding/a business partner to grow the project.

Great potential for online training

While this may not grab hardened martial artists, I think there is huge potential for new trainees and the untapped market of people wanting to learn from home. This should be more successful than videos or zoom sessions.
Trainess could use this to practice at home between classes.
There are some well-developed very popular boxercise programs on Meta, and while they don't teach you to fight they do help with proper technique and a level of fitness.

I think this has huge (and currently untapped) potential for martial arts technique and a level of fitness
And while the aficionados may disagree, this could reach a huge market that can't or aren't comfortable attending a live class.

Would love to see DLC's such as:
Wing Chun
Kick Boxing Kung Fu (and probably classical styles would interest)
To name a few :)

Best wishes for the development of this app.
Please consider a one-time payment (with possible DLC releases)
NOT a monthly subscription

I think this is why Les Mills Body XR is so successful

Thanks for your kind words! Agree, PozeAR is NOT a monthly subscription. You buy patterns as you go (i.e. as you progress through the belts in real life), and once purchased they are yours for life.

Great new steps for VR

There's some fine tuning, however this is a great way to bring out the ability of what VR can be used for. I look forward to seeing this one grow. We'll done 👌
