Column Inspector Training is an immersive virtual reality course that prepares personnel for safe, compliant inspections in confined spaces in industrial process plants. It focuses on column entry and inspection work, simulating real conditions to build competence and situational awareness without operational risk.

Trainees inspect a Direct Contact Air Cooler (DCAC) after turnaround maintenance and complete the full workflow: pre-entry checks, entry/exit documentation, internal inspection tasks, and safe exit.

Randomized variables make every session different, introducing changing hazards and reinforcing decision-making. Communication mirrors site workflows through radio messages and visual cues.

The training covers emergency evacuation, lost tool and lighting-failure protocols, and coordination with the Manhole Watch.

Developed to Linde’s stringent safety standards and industry best practices, the module mirrors actual operating protocols. Fully integrated into the broader LVA platform, it offers seamless progression across complementary safety and operational trainings, forming a cohesive learning pathway. Participants emerge with enhanced technical expertise and situational awareness to protect lives, assets, and facilities during fire emergencies.
