The Lewis and Clark expedition of 1804-1806 is one of the most important diplomatic and scientific expeditions in history. In this educational VR experience, learn about the expedition’s people, places, and events through deep-dive videos narrated by experts, interactive virtual artifacts, recreations of important historical structures and places, 360 photos of real-life locations, immersive sound, and informative text. Lewis & Clark VR explores the history of the Corps of Discovery from a variety of viewpoints and is designed to be used as a supplement to classroom learning across multiple grade levels, including middle school, high school, and early college. Lewis & Clark VR was designed and developed by a team of Shenandoah University faculty, staff, and students at the Shenandoah Center for Immersive Learning (SCiL) based on a summer travel experience that retraced Lewis and Clark’s original route. This project is generously supported by the Lewis & Clark Trail Alliance.
