This virtual learning environment allows users to experience the differences between a clinic that is set up in a trauma informed manner and one that is not. User will learn about how the physical environment can affect whether an agency is welcoming to those who may have experienced trauma in the past and discover how choices in design, language and setting impact their clients. Users will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the client’s experience as they are facing barriers to accessing services, and conduct a real-time assessment pertaining to the degree to which a client might feel frustrated or anxious when interfacing with the environment. In addition, they will have the ability to examine whether there are elements of the environment or agency experience that could re-trigger past trauma for clients.
