HereSphere is a cutting edge VR video player that enhances the immersiveness of stereoscopic VR videos. The comprehensive projection system allows for accurate projection of equirectangular and fisheye videos. Correct lens distortions, camera stereo alignment errors, video stitching and production errors, and even adjust the image to match your IPD, head orientation, and position with a state-of-the-art autofocus depth algorithm. Ever notice double vision when rotating your head while watching stereoscopic VR videos? Autofocus fixes this issue.

HereSphere comes with the following additional features:
- Play local videos or stream from SMB shares, DLNA servers, or the web browser
- Timestamped file tagging system with media library search tools, playlists, and autoseeking that will automatically jump to the desired tags
- Image sharpening and fine-tuned color adjustments
- Key-framed settings that can be set to different values for different points in time, allowing the player to load the ideal settings for each scene
- Simultaneous playback of multiple flat-screen videos, with audio that automatically focuses on the video in front of the viewer
- Support for external subtitle files (srt, ssa, ass) with automatic depth adjustments for VR videos

This is a free demo version of HereSphere VR Video Player. It has the same features as the paid app, except there's an occasional reminder to purchase the app.

1 fps?

Tried the demo, but I can only get about 1fps out of the box, when playing a 1080p HD .mkv via SMB. I have a fast 6e network connection, and watching the same video via Virtual Desktop is smooth, even with 120fps desktop and Quest settings. I might try again, but very dissapointing. I've also tried the Steam demo version (on my PCVR headset), and on that there is an issue with flickering pixels around the boarder of the image. I'm thinking this App needs more more work. Especially at the relatively high cost to buy!

A hidden gem !

The auto-focus feature does a great job of solving the issue of double vision when viewing close-up objects in VR videos. This alone pretty much makes it the go-to choice for watching VR content.
That said, the experience with regular videos is just so-so. In my tests, many videos failed to play audio tracks properly for some unknown reason (though everything works fine with Skybox or 4XVR).
But hey—it's a free app! How could I not give it five stars?

okay effect, bad UI

The smart auto-alignment features are far from perfect, still causing a lot of eye strain. This plus the terribly unfriendly settings UI make me prefer watching my nature documentaries elsewhere. Also, it couldn't connect to my SMB (could only detect), whereas Skybox could.

Great initiative, but needs refinement

1. I have to agree with others, the GUI is excessive. Why not have an unobtrusive GUI for basic functions, which expands when needed.

2. It would be helpful to have hover balloon tips for additional adjustments.

3. Why do I have to log in each time to access my smb shared folders? I don't have this issue with Skybox.

4. I couldn't find a way to remap the controller functions or change the skip fwd / back time.

I am keen to purchase but I will watch out for improvements first

Best VR video player

The most advanced video player for VR. My only complaint is the UI that's distracting. I wish the blue borders would be disabled and the menus had more of a dark frosted glass look instead, to make the UI appear seamless with the videos. Also, the price of the paid version is a bit too steep. It would be a no-brainer for me if the price was around $10-15. Thanks!

Good Video Player, Terrible UI

On the most part a good video player but flawed by a terrible User Interface. Sure you can tweak just about any aspect of playback but does the entire screen need to be filled with the options?
Even though I am running the demo version for $29.99 I would expect legacy support such as AVI files.
Has potential if you can get past the frustration and wanting to fling you controllers trying to wade through the options/setting screens.
