I was under the impression you could view your own and others splats but it’s just a few demo scenes? I recommend Scaniverse if you want to actually explore gaussian splats and make your own
So far I’ve only tried the cook and dancer holograms but my mind is already blown. Once you get a video loop running and scaled to life size the effect is surreal and dream-like.
This is astonishing technology! In mixed reality with the Quest 3’s full color pass through it feels like something right out of Blade Runner.
It takes me back to the moment when I first saw a demo of the Amiga 1000 back in the 1980s and my mind was flooded with possibilities.
This feels like the beginning of a quantum leap.
Absolutely mind-blowing. Next level. Profound.
To see someone appear in mixed reality preparing a meal is an experience beyond words.
It's just a tech demo—nowhere near consumer-ready. The visuals are rough, and even a simple action takes up massive storage space. The developers didn’t show how to create the videos, likely because it’s expensive and tedious. This feels like lab-only stuff.
Reality Viewer is the only app I have seen on the Quest with more impressive graphics.
The food in mixed reality look so realistic. Also, the environmental occlusion enhances the high-fidelity view of the 3D models. I'm looking forward to customizing and exploring 3D models from the community. Keep on going!
