The aircraft carrier USS Intrepid served the United States Navy from 1943 to 1974. The hard-working crew in the Engineering Department controlled the high-pressure superheated steam that ran the ship’s engines, aircraft catapults, and more. They also maintained the ship’s engines, boilers and miles of pipes and valves.
