SAME AS MY THERAPIST!!

LIFEHACK if you don't speak English: ask Eva to talk your native language! And yes, Eva ask same questions and highlight same things as my human well known doc. Devs, it's amazing product! Tears in my eyes when I'm writing it! I will recommend recommend this product to all my friends, and will buy headset with EvaAI for my mom.

Hey hey Julia thank you for sharing the language “lifehack” and for the kind words. Eva already supports more than 40 languages, and our next update will add a quick voice-toggle plus accent tuning so conversations sound even more natural. Knowing you plan to recommend EvaAI to friends and even buy a headset for your mom really means a lot. Making mental wellness tools accessible across generations is central to our mission. We’ll keep refining empathy and localization so any tears are happy ones.

Awesome promising product

I’ve tested several AI services in this field, including GPT in general, but here the real strength is empathy - it never feels like you’re talking to a robot. It genuinely listens and dives into your problem or request, and you can feel the difference in the results. The way it summarizes your case at the end is both simple and brilliant.

Really useful!

Yo, I tried EvaAI Health’s VR therapy and it’s honestly kinda dope! The AI therapist feels super chill, like it really listens, and the VR vibe is so relaxing, like a safe little escape. I’m using the free plan with one session a week. The sleep and stress tips are helping me out big time, no joke. Check it out at EvaAI Health, totally recommend!

Shilled by sponsored YouTubers

and it's a giant data collector.

Hey we value your feedback. Skepticism about AI and data collection, especially around privacy and influencer marketing, is understandable. To be clear, we are collaborating with the International Virtual Reality Healthcare Association to show : EvaAI sessions are opt-in and handled under a strict privacy policy.

We mitigate any risks by acting under grounded, CBT-informed usage of a specially configured agent.

For many with limited access, tools like EvaAI can bridge gaps as a structured complement, not a substitute.

Smart tools don’t make us less human—it’s how we use them that counts. All love.

Impressive but hard to recommend

(Disclaimer: product received for free)

I don’t have any experience with therapy outside of this app, so maybe there’s something I’m overlooking in regards to the effectiveness of “real” in person therapy, but I find this app hard to recommend over seeing an actual therapist.

The app itself is surprisingly impressive. I went in with low expectations but the AI is really good. It doesn’t just talk like a normal person would, it talks like a therapist would. It knows how to focus on the smallest details of what you said. It can pivot a conversation effectively and circle back to things you said earlier in a very believable way. I was surprised by the (for lack of a better term) conversational intelligence and behavioural skills it showed, clearly rooted in serious research.

There are some issues with the AI unfortunately. But, an update that I haven’t had chance to try apparently focuses on some of these issues. Outside of the issues with the AI interrupting you, sometimes looping dialogue and the long pauses (all of which have been mentioned as focus points by the developers for the new update), my main issue is the lack of persistence between sessions.

The AI will simply have zero knowledge of anything you have discussed in previous sessions. Even with this issue, the AI will actually give you a task of sorts to address issues you’re having over the next week and discuss your progress with them “in next weeks session”, even though the AI will not remember anything you spoke about before.

The sessions seem useful for addressing short term issues you’re having in the moment, potentially as a way to work through sudden emotional episodes or focussed concerns in a single session, but I can’t see this being an effective tool for long term therapy.

There is something to be said about having an easy look into a therapy experience for someone who may be on the fence. Or, someone who struggles with social anxiety being able to use this app as an alternative to going straight into a real social experience with a real person, which may be causing them to avoid therapy entirely. Maybe try a month subscription if you’re one of these people. However, if you’re serious about seeking therapy, I would recommend seeing an in person therapist.

Hey Henry_1000, thank you for the thoughtful, balanced take and for stress-testing longer-term use.

You’re absolutely right that continuity matters for meaningful progress. Our recent version does not reset context between sessions. Give it a try.

We’re actively testing optional session summaries and user-controlled carryover so Eva can follow up on goals without retaining sensitive details by default.

We also shipped fixes to reduce interruptions and long pauses; more latency improvements are in flight. Appreciate the honest comparison to in‑person therapy. For now, EvaAI aims to complement and connect dots, helping to make the first step.
