The MR offers a visualisation of A. Scriabin’s Five Preludes Op. 74, piano miniature late works, considered to be sketches for his final multisensory drama Mysterium. A. Scriabin (1872- 1915) believed that his newly designed harmonic system in unity with other attributes of performing arts, such as dance, colour organ, perfume etc., through extasy of sensory stimulation brings human consciousness to a new horizons of the creative spirit. Scriabin’s archetypes of musical texture: 1. Notion of Mystical Unity 2. The Divine Summons 3. The Eternal Feminine 4. Motive of light 5. Motive of flight 6. Vertiginous dances (by Susanna Garcia). His harmonies are based on a broader concept of temperament and he was precursor of Schoenberg’s 12-note serialism and Messiaen's modes of limited transpositions. Scriabin operated by homeland Dual-Modality mode of enharmonic sequencies as described by Yavorsky/Dernova.
By interacting with virtual symbolic objects the spectator recalls different music tracks. Scriabin was a synesthete. In his time, he asked to design a simple lamp device to accommodate the illumination- “to make the harmony more evident” (Gawboy and Townsend). In the 21st century, we have MR environments to fulfil his vision and provide an environment for cognitive musicology.
