Deep Sky Guide VR - Explore Sky Together

Deep Sky Guide VR is a multi-headset astronomy guidance app for Meta Quest. It is designed for stargazing events, education, families, and group observation.

One Quest headset works as the Guide, while other headsets join as Participants on the same Wi-Fi. The Guide can share sky direction and display states with the Participants, allowing everyone to follow the same part of the sky together.

Guide Mode can synchronize the Guide Beam, sky position, constellation display, wide nebula display, Messier object display, passthrough state, observing location, UTC offset, north alignment, and recentering. When a Participant reconnects after a temporary disconnection, the current Guide state is restored automatically.

The interface is intentionally simple, with three main functions: Constellations, Wide Nebula, and Guide. This makes the app suitable for use during real observing sessions without complex operation.

Guide Mode communicates over the local network and does not require an internet connection for normal use. This makes it useful at outdoor observing sites, schools, public astronomy events, or other locations where internet access may be limited.

Multiple Participants can connect to one Guide, making it possible for one presenter to guide several people through the same sky at the same time.
