Just downloaded today. App starts, goes through some instructions, allows menu selection for destinations, arrives to blank screen.
Just downloaded the app. All I see is a grey horizon and the sun. Nothing loads aside from the menu.
Having been a very happy user of Google Earth VR for a while now I have only recently become aware of standalone apps using Google imagery that don't require a fairly high end PC to operate. I first tried Earthquest, which is slightly awkward to get running and needs a Google account to obtain something called an API key. This app is my most recent acquisition in the same field. The main advantage of this one is that it works straight away, and that is a huge difference for anyone who isn't particularly tech savvy. Also the controls for flying around are better on this one. However, I have found the image quality on Earthquest to be significantly better as it has settings adjustment for these factors. Earthquest also has Google Street View integration, which this one doesn't have (at time of writing). Both apps are priced at £3.99, which is very reasonable considering I paid £1000 for the laptop I use for running Google Earth VR. The full Google offering is still very much King of this domain however, with far superior graphics quality, but both this app and Earthquest are very much worthwhile alternatives for constrained budgets.
UPDATE
This app seems to have stopped working. No idea what's happened to it. It seemed fine last time I tried it, but now, 9th September 2024, none of the Google Earth imagery opens and you just get a strange looking blank screen. I would suggest you don't buy this until it is confirmed to be working again.
App is not working, you can only browse menu and nothing else. I do not recommend.
Edit: there is no new update. Last version us 5.2. Which version is fixed?
Edit 20.8.2024: next 12 days and still nothing? I find it very strange...
Hoping this will be the next best thing to Google earth VR left me somewhat disappointed, as it only offers the 3D maps of some popular cities without the Street View; this is lagging behind similar product like Wooorld. But lately, the data of the 3D map seems a bit corrupted. If you go to Tokyo and navigate close to the Skytree region, you would notice the detail is not available anymore, and it has been like this for a week now. Uninstall and reinstall the app did not help the situation.
I hope AnyWR is still improving to become a full fletch product in Meta Store very soon.
Latest update bricked this app. Trying to load up any location will give me an error saying I need to set my system language to English (it is) or it'll just auto restart to intro screen before even loading a location.
